The Baltimore-Washington Section, one of the four founding sections of the Society, is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a Diamond Anniversary Panel and Reception. A unique panel discussion of SWE leaders who served as national president during the last 40 years will be held. Naomi McAfee (1970s), Suzanne Jenniches (1980s), Peggy Layne (1990s), and Michelle Tortolani (2000s) will highlight the cultural, educational, and political events in our nation; significant milestones in the history of SWE; and how these events and milestones shaped the SWE decade in which they served. In addition to professional and collegiate SWE members in the area, other engineering societies, Washington, DC area corporate partners, and other local community groups are invited.
Attendees will not only enjoy this one-of-a-kind discussion but will also receive a keepsake program book with a summary of the section’s history, panel and moderator bios, and additional recognition of other SWE Baltimore-Washington Section members. The entire panel discussion will be recorded and archived.
Please join us for this historical event. The cost is $15 for professional members and non-members (this money will be put directly towards our scholarship program) and college students are Free.
