Eligibility requirements:
Must be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate engineering student (or reentry student) in an ABET/CSAB accredited engineering program. Freshman and Reentry scholarship applicants must be residents of the Baltimore-Washington metro area. Sophomore, Junior, Senior and Graduate Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in an engineering program at a university in the Baltimore-Washington metro area.
Must not be receiving full funding from a university, employer or other outside source.
Must demonstrate high academic performance and show an enthusiastic interest in their professional development in the field of engineering by participating in technical organizations, holding leadership positions, conducting research projects or pursuing engineering or non-engineering related work experience.
Overall grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.
SWE student members will be given preference among current college students. Application requires submittal of an essay, a transcript, two letters of recommendation and other supporting information. Applications are evaluated based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, financial need, and a personal essay.
